As the National Wool Museum marks 50 years of educating and inspiring visitors, the combination of traditional craftsmanship, modern technology and contemporary art demonstrates how Wales' textile heritage continues to evolve while remaining firmly rooted in its past. 

The wait is over. Helios a seven-metre-wide installation of the Sun has landed at National Museum Cardiff and from 10am tomorrow (21 July 2026), visitors can experience the artwork by Luke Jerram throughout the school summer holidays for free.

A major exhibition of work by Helen Chadwick, which will for the first time show her Viral Landscapes in the landscape which inspired them, will open at Oriel y Parc, National Park Discovery Centre, St Davids this summer, bringing internationally recognised contemporary art to the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
